FAQs for the Oley Fair
Q1: What is the admissions cost for the fair?
A1: Admission to the fair is free! There is a $5 per vehicle parking fee.
Q2: How do I submit entries to the fair?
A2: Entries are collected prior to the opening of the fair in departments, sections, and classes for a wide variety of items which are outlined in the annual fair book. Entries are limited to residents of Alsace, Amity, Earl, Exeter, Pike, Rockland, Ruscombanor, & Oley Townships, employees of the Oley Valley School District, and students at Berks Career & Technology Center. Q3: How do I become a commercial exhibitor?
A3: Space for commercial exhibitors is limited as a result of very few spaces being vacated from year to year. Interested commercial exhibitors are encouraged to visit the “Contact” page to learn more, or to email oleyfairexhibitors@gmail.com to request more information.
Q4: Are pets allowed on the fair grounds?
A4: No. Only service animals are permitted on the fair grounds with the proper paperwork, in addition to animal department entries.
Q5: What time are exhibit removals?
A5: Entry removal times vary by department, but all occur on the last day of the fair (Saturday). The following is a list of such times:

Q6: What times are the rides available?
A6: The rides are operated each day of the fair at the following times:
- Thursday from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- Friday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
- Saturday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
Q7: When are ride bracelets available and what do they cost?
A7: Ride bracelets are sold for $30 per day and are able to be used at the following times:
- Thursday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
- Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Q8: When is the car show?
A8: The Car & Antique Tractor Show is held annually on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Q9: Do I have to pre-register for the car show?
A9: No, pre-registration is not required. However, the first 175 cars/ tractors will receive a commemorative dash plaque. There is a $5 registration fee.
Q10: How do I volunteer?
A10: The Oley Fair is 100% volunteer run, and we need you! Many local churches and organizations organize volunteers to cover specific shifts in our refreshment stands, but help is also needed in the membership booth, food ticket windows, as sitters in the exhibit areas, and beyond. Please contact 610-987-3469 for more information and/or to express interest.
Q11: When is the trophy ceremony?
A11: Trophies and awards are given at two different times during the fair to recognize achievement in two different primary categories at the following times:
- Commercial Exhibit Awards are presented on Thursday at 6:15 pm
- Department Trophies are presented on Saturday at 6:30 pm
Both awards presentations are held at the main stage under the pavilion.
Q12: When and where is the auction?
A12: The annual auction is held in the agriculture building at 9:30 pm on Saturday to close out the fair. Remaining items from around the fair will be auctioned off including food stand items, hay bales and mums, unclaimed baked goods entries, and more. The auction is cash only.
Q13: How do I become a member of the fair?
A13: Stop by the Membership booth during the 3 days of the fair. You can also join during entry check-in on Monday and Tuesday evening in the Fair Centre. Cost is $1 per adult member. Junior members under an adult member are free!
Q14: When are the membership meetings of the fair association?
A14: Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of January, May, & July, and the 4th Tuesday of August & October at 7:00 PM in the Fair Centre.
Q15: What forms of payment are accepted?
A15: Both cash and card are accepted, including tap-to-pay methods like ApplePay. All food purchases must be made using food tickets which are sold at the windows in the Fair Centre. The OVHS senior class cake and cider stand is cash only, and does not accept food tickets.
Q16: How much do the food items cost?
A16: Food item costs will be published annually on our Facebook page and website.
